Dominika is the Owner/ Director of Kinesphere. She is a GYROTONIC® Master Trainer, a certified Level II GYROTONIC® instructor, a certified Level I GYROKINESIS® instructor, and a certified Pilates instructor through Long Beach Dance Conditioning.
As a modern dancer, Dominika garnered numerous academic and artistic scholarships. A five-year stint studying and performing in New York City was followed by a yearlong tenure in Prague, Czechoslovakia where she performed professionally, began teaching ballet and modern dance, and choreographing. She first encountered Pilates mat work in spring '93, while a graduate student in Dance at Arizona State University. During this time, her intuitive teaching abilities and interest in the art and science of movement also led to a graduate assistantship in Dance Kinesiology with Professor Pamela Matt.
In the fall of 1997, a former teacher introduced Dominika to the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®. While training in GYROTONIC® methodolgy, Dominika saw a marked change in the ease and efficiency of her movement, an improvement in her scoliosis and enhanced balance, strength and aerobic capacity. In 1998 she began teaching in her own private practice. As an instructor, Dominika draws on her diverse movement background and dance teaching skills, bringing to each session patience, clarity, integrity and joy of movement.
Dominika is the former Artistic Director of Semaphor DanceWorks, and holds a BFA '85 and MFA '95 in Dance Performance and Choreography from Arizona State University. It is her vision that Kinesphere be a place of learning and healing, a place to strengthen the body while lifting the spirit.
Lisa’s passion for the art and science of movement began when she started figure skating at nine years old. She entered into the world of dance at age 13, eventually earning her BFA in Dance Education from Arizona State University in 2001. For several years she was an active member of Semaphor DanceWorks and co-founder of Venture Dance Collective.
An inspired student of human anatomy and physiology, she began her study of Pilates in 1996 and her training in the GYROTONIC® excercise method in 1999 with Dominika Borovansky Gaines. Lisa began her apprenticeship in 2000 at Kinesphere in Phoenix. She took her interest in movement methodologies further in 2002 when she became Level I-certified in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® and completed her Pilates certification from Long Beach Dance Conditioning in 2003.
Motivated by LBDC’s intense focus on the development of deep core strength and its continual integration of advances in movement biomechanics, Lisa has worked intensively with LBDC founder Marie Jose Blom to become a teacher of Core Intelligence™. She will begin offering this training at Kinesphere in late February 2008.
Sheila Lively began her study of Pilates in 2002 as a student. She enjoyed how much the work helped her overcome previous injuries and the stress of the workplace and decided she would like to help others in the same way.
In August 2004, she completed Core Beginnings training through Long Beach Dance Conditioning. In January 2005, she received her certificate as a personal trainer from the National Personal Trainers Institute and followed this with ACE certification in February 2005.
Sheila’s pursuit of knowledge in anatomy and physiology never ceases. She obtained her Pilates certification in the Pilates Method™ through the PhysicalMind Institute in May 2006 and certification to be a Level I GYROTONIC® instructor in May 2007. In July 2007, she received yet another certificate after participating in a Pink Ribbon Program-sponsored intensive on Post-Rehabilitation for Breast Cancer.
Sheila was a Retirement Plan Administrator and Consultant for 20 years before becoming a Pilates and GYROTONIC® instructor. Her first degree was a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, West Virginia. She wants to teach people how Pilates and GYROTONIC® exercise can help relieve the tension of the job and everyday stresses through movement. You will know that Sheila is in the studio when you hear laughter.

Sue's bio here...
David found Pilates through his ballet training when offered free private sessions with instructors in training at a local Pilates studio. The owner of this studio, Katrina Foe, was the Teacher Trainer for the PhysicalMind Institute. After many sessions David decided to undergo the training process to become a Certified Pilates Instructor under Ms. Foe.
David discovered Gyrokinesis® through his work with Master Trainer Dominika Borovansky-Gaines, which led to an interest in the Gyrotonic Expansion SystemTM. Soon hooked on Gyrotonic exercise, David began his training with Ms. Gaines in early 2007 and became a Certified Level 1 Instructor in the Gyrotonic Expansion System in July of 2008.
Lisa has always been interested in movement: first as a very young dancer, then as an aide in a physical therapy clinic, and now as a teacher of dance and Pilates. Though her path to Pilates was anything but direct, Lisa's varied experiences have all shaped how she currently thinks about movement and dance.
After temporarily leaving dance to receive her BS in Mathematics from the University of Puget Sound in 2002, Lisa returned to the art form and began searching for a way to combine science and dance. She took numerous courses in anatomy and kinesiology to further her knowledge of these subjects, and she applied this knowledge while working at a physical therapy clinic. It was during this time that Lisa was first introduced to Pilates.
As a dancer, Lisa quickly recognized the benefits of Pilates as a conditioning program, and she appreciates the qualities of Pilates that improve well-being, such as breath, mental focus, and the resulting increase in body awareness. After receiving her MFA in Dance from Arizona State University in 2008, Lisa decided to pursue her certification in Pilates. She completed her training with Karen Clippinger through Body Arts and Science International in 2008.
